My grandfather laid tar roofs in East St. Louis. My father installed EPDM across the Midwest in the 1990s. I started this firm in 2019 because I believed the trade had drifted — that commercial roofing had become a transaction when it ought to be a covenant.
A roof is the most expensive single asset on most commercial buildings. It is also the most ignored, until it leaks. We built AJ Construction to be the contractor that treats every roof like the asset it is — from first inspection, through fifteen years of warranty, to the next assembly that replaces it.
We do one thing — single-ply TPO membrane — and we do it across six states, on schools and hospitals and warehouses and apartment buildings. We are answerable to the buildings we install on. That is, I think, the only honest way to roof.
